Cashiers provide exceptional customer service and assistance in a friendly and professional manner. Main duties include utilizing a cash register in the processing and packaging of customer purchases. Will also provide general customer assistance, maintain the cashiers’ desk area, and assist with the pricing and display of merchandise.
Job Function & Duties:
- Utilize the cash register and debit/check machine in checking out merchandise as well as perform related duties such as giving change, packaging of merchandise, and providing customer assistance as needed.
- Perform duties related to the cashiers’ desk area e.g. keeping packaging materials stocked, routine cleaning and organizing, etc.
- Assist in pricing and stocking of merchandise or other reasonable duties as assigned by the management.
- Balance a cash drawer.
- Lift and/or carry objects light weight as per United States Department of Labor definitions (see attachment).
- Follow company health and safety expectations.
