Job Summary: Provides exceptional customer service and assistance in a friendly and professional manner. Main duties include greeting, communicating, and ringing in customers. Other duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining the cashier cubicles and lobby.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operates cash register and debit/check machine
  • Balance cash drawer
  • Process gift cards
  • Processing and filing information
  • Using the photocopier and fax machines
  • Making announcements over the intercom system
  • General customer assistance as needed
  • Processing all group reservations
  • Greeting and seating the bus groups
  • Setting up and cleaning up private rooms
  • Placing reservation cards on tables
  • Making signs and charts on the computer
  • Maintaining and operating all take-out procedures
  • Processing lost and found items; mailing lost & found items
  • Keeping lobby items, register items and customer service items, flyers, etc. up to date and stocked
  • General “fix up” and “clean up” at the customer service desk and in the lobby as needed
  • Answering questions over the phone & transferring to appropriate extensions
  • Responding to customer emails on the computer and forwarding them to the appropriate manager
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the management team

Required skills and abilities: 

  • Basic communication skills and fluency in English
  • Enjoys working and relating with people
  • Willing to be available to assist with customer questions
  • Ability to be self-motivated and to display initiative in areas such as customer assistance, assisting small and large groups, making signs, etc.
  • A desire to treat every customer and co-worker with respect regardless of their behavior
  • Ability to operate or process a cash register, a debit/check machine, gift certificates, fax/photocopy machines, balancing of the money drawer, etc.
  • Able to use basic computer software programs effectively and efficiently
  • Display a willing and teachable attitude

Education and Experience:  No special education is required; at least three months of experience performing the duties of a host and cashier learned by on-the-job training by the company.

  • Lift/carry objects 11-25 lbs – 50% of the time
  • Walking, bending, standing 100% of the time
  • Be able to use stairs or climb a ladder on occasion
