Smorgasbord cooks prepare an attractive array of exceptional quality food to be served on the buffet steam tables. Main duties include utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation of food items from recipes, storage of food items, filling requests for the steam table from the food ordering machine, and maintaining the kitchen food prep area.
Job Function & Duties:
- Follow recipes and utilize commercial kitchen equipment in food preparation and storage.
- Candidates for full-time cook and prep cook positions must be at least 18 years of age as per Department of Labor regulations.
- Perform related food preparation and kitchen environment duties such as stocking, routine cleaning, organizing, etc.
- Utilize the food ordering machine in processing requests for on-demand items.
- Set up, monitor, maintain, and tear down salad, soup, cheese, and bread bars.
- Assist customers with questions or problems as necessary.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the management.
- Lift and/or carry objects light to occasional medium weight as per United States Department of Labor definitions.
- Full-time cook and prep cook employees must be able to lift and/or carry objects light and medium weight as per United States Department of Labor definitions.
